day 21 of the challenge: the end is near!

I realize I haven't updated in a while regarding my AdvoCare 24-Day Challenge!

I'm 21 days into it, although this weekend I kind of flubbed and may extend it an extra three days. I didn't take my MNS 3 packets like I should have so I actually have some left over...and I'm not gonna let those bad boys go to waste!

I feel like I've plateaued a little during the Max Phase. The stuff I'm taking now doesn't make me "feel" any different like I did during the Cleanse Phase, so my motivation is a little lackluster.

However, with that being said, I am still maintaining an overall weight loss of 7 pounds since starting 21 days ago and all my work pants look ridiculous on me as they're so baggy in the waist and thighs!

My eating could, of course, always be better, but y'all -- I'm never going to be someone who WILLINGLY chooses tuna and avocados over some tacos at Fuzzy's. I can during a challenge, but that's not real life.

Once these 24 days are over, I still plan on eating (mostly) Paleo and will continue to use AdvoCare's Spark, Probiotics and maybe even order another box of MNS 3 or MNS C to help with those junk food cravings. The MNS 3 really seems to work in that regard. There have been times when I simply do NOT want any sugar or fried foods, which is nice. But this weekend, when I didn't take the MNS 3 the prescribed way, well...I went to Fuzzy's. lol.

I'm going to finish strong these next couple of days and hope for some more pounds to fall away.

On that note, it's time to dig up some more Paleo recipes!

moving on to the max phase!

I am on Day 11 of my AdvoCare 24-Day Challenge and I am SO PROUD to say that during the Cleanse Phase, I lost SEVEN pounds!!!!

I am currently back to my pre-pregnancy weight, which is laughable because my child is three years old, but hey! I'll take it!

I had my first meal replacement shake this morning. They're really not that bad! I'd like to get all fancy with them and blend with ice, fruit, etc., but who has time for that?

My awesome advisor gave me a variety pack of the shakes instead of just one flavor and most of them look like they'll be yummy, but I'm nervous about the berry flavor. I'm not a big strawberry/berry person. I'll take chocolate-flavored anything over berries any day. I have about 5 Berry packets...so I'm hoping they'll taste good.

I am SOOOOOOOOOOO thrilled!

January 3, 2014

down, but not out.

Ever have one of those days where it just seems like everyone is out to get you? To beat you down? And it doesn't seem to let up? Just one thing after the next? Over and over and over again?

That was today.

It's Day 3 of the Challenge and it started off great.

Then, a series of events unfolded that made my day crappy...and I went home and treated myself to a bowl of popcorn and two cookies.

I guess that makes me an official "emotional eater." But after how I felt today, a bowl of dry tuna mixed with avocado just wasn't going to do the trick.

Other than the popcorn and cookies, everything else was on par and I've already lost 2 pounds in just three days.

Today was just an off day. Tomorrow will be better. It has to be.

Tomorrow is also grocery shopping day. I'm looking forward to having all my good, healthy food in place so I can plan meals accordingly and grab healthy snacks on the go.

So, a little bump in the road today. I've forgiven myself. It's not the end of the world.

**** Note: I know the rules state that you're not supposed to weigh yourself during the cleanse, but I couldn't help myself. I felt "lighter," so curiosity got the best of me. :)

the 24-day challenge has started!

Hello, everyone!

I am on Day Two of the AdvoCare 24-Day Challenge and so far, so good.

*** I also want to mention here that I've signed on as an AdvoCare distributor, so if anything you read in the next 24 days appeals to you, please let me know! The 24-Day Challenge bundle IS ON SALE from now until 21 Jan!

Ok, back to the Challenge.

Day One was pretty easy. I looked up helpful tips on Pinterest and read that if you place your day's "goodies" in a Ziploc bag and carry it with you throughout the day, you're more likely to succeed. That tip definitely worked!

I started out the day with a ProBiotic and soon as I woke up and then made my Fiber Drink 30 minutes before eating a bowl of oatmeal. The Fiber Drink isn't delicious, but it's not as bad as I thought it would be. While the texture is interesting, you can tell you're drinking a cup full of health! I mixed mine with a little bit of Spark and it was tolerable :) The faster you drink it, the better. Just pretend you're back in college chugging a beer...not that I would know anything about that, though.

Mmmmm fiber drink!
See? A cup full of health!
I then took 2 Omegas with my oatmeal and then 2 Omegas again with lunch.

At bedtime, you pop the Herbal Cleanse tablets  and then your day is complete! It sounds like a lot to keep up with and I was nervous that it'd be too much work. But with a little planning and organization, it's totally doable.

Note: On my Ziploc bag, I wrote out what I needed to take and when in a Sharpie marker. This is revolutionary, as you don't have to go back to your manual or look things up online. Just write it all out the day before, pack your baggie and done and done!

I am started out the Challenge weighing 162.8 (uggggh).

I am not going to weigh myself for at least another week. I've heard that you shouldn't weigh yourself while on the cleanse because you're drinking a lot of water and the fiber can actually make some people feel heavier (and their jeans tighter). It's just wise to not weigh yourself until all the stuff your cleansing your body of has been flushed out.

What I can tell you, after only one day, is that I already feel lighter, if that's even possible. I drank all the recommended water (about 80 oz for me) and yes, I had to go to the bathroom a lot yesterday, but I feel a whole lot better and definitely have more energy. For someone who works from 4 a.m. to noon, this is important!

I am also trying to eat mostly Paleo, as I mentioned in my previous post. I am following this eating plan. Well, I will be once I get all the groceries this weekend. For now, since my in-laws are still in town, I am just trying to make better choices until I can get on the plan and stick to it!

So here's to day two!
